IMG_0784-X2Hello! I’m Sarah. I am a marketing professional with over 13 years of experience in digital and content marketing roles helping B2B brands engage with their audiences and drive demand.

With today’s “swipe right or swipe left” mentality, online experiences must be quick to engage the audience or else face getting lost in the clutter. I joined IBM 4 years ago in a demand generation role. Shortly after, I was selected to help form a new team at IBM, the Always-On Newsroom, with the objective of real-time, responsive and engaging content on the latest innovative channels. In essence, we aim to achieve our own “Oreo Moment.”

In my most current role as Content Director for IBM’s suite of commerce products, I support product launches, events and lead generation campaigns with content strategy aligned to each stage of the buyer’s journey. I run marketing campaigns using the iterative process of agile practices on a cross-functional team working with product management, analyst relations, demand generation, events, and digital.

In 2012, I earned my MBA from the University of California, Irvine Paul Merage School of Business while working full time. This level of educational achievement had always been a goal of mine. I was the first in my family to get a Bachelor’s degree, so a Master’s exceeded expectations; and in the top 12% of my class no less!

I was born and raised in Southern California and have lived here all my life, except for one year abroad in Bradford, England. Living abroad was a life changing experience, opening up my eyes to a world beyond the bubble. It ignited a passion for traveling. I’ve visited cities throughout Europe and Latin America, and more recently traveling around our own beautiful and diverse country.

I have a healthy appetite for books, both fiction (especially after years of only reading b-school books) and non-fiction. I read a lot of non-fiction books on marketing, but one quirky interested I have is cognition and  neuroscience.

I love the environment and outdoors – biking, running, hiking and gardening. How could you not in gorgeous Southern California weather?
